A foot of new snow fell overnight!  Skies are clear this morning although more snow is expected by tomorrow.  Telluride and the area will be mostly cloudy today with a few scattered light snow showers possible. Highs from 25 to 35 with winds from 10 to 20 mph. Skies will begin to clear late Wednesday afternoon as high pressure builds over the region for the rest of the week.

AVALANCHE REPORT:

The avalanche conditions in the San Juans around Telluride as of yesterday morning are rated as low below treeline in the morning, changing to moderate in the afternoon. Moderate avalanche hazard above treeline.

SNOW REPORT:

Five inches of new snow fell overnight. As of March 23, 1997 the Telluride Ski & Golf Co. reported a top-of-the-mountain base of 73" with a trace of new snow and a mid-mountain base of 71".
