Inside Christ Presbyterian church, a janitor walked through the pews, picking up after midnight mass. He noticed a lump stretched out in one of the back pews. It was a young man rolled up in a sleeping bag. The janitor tapped his shoulder. Eric Banks looked up. "Time to go home, son," the janitor said. "Minister Cox said it was okay that I could crash here tonight," Eric responded sleepily. "He did, huh?" "Merry Christmas, sir," said Eric, and promptly dropped back into his bag. "Merry Christmas to you," shrugged the janitor, and continued on his way. |
