EPISODE 7, SCENE 3
Jordan Thorne sat in his office listening ashen-faced as Marshal Tramaine confirmed that the plane crash which killed his mother Dolores was now being called a homicide.

"But why?" Jordan finally said. "Who'd do a thing like that?" Tramaine shrugged. "Someone who might profit either financially or emotionally from her death, Mr. Thorne. At least that's been my experience. I've seen my share of impulse killings, but this doesn't look like one of 'em. This one took some planning." Jordan nodded vacantly.

"Your mother was well off financially?" Tramaine asked.

"Yes," Jordan replied.

"Who is the primary benefactor of her estate?"

"I am." Jordan suddenly stared at Tramaine like he hadn't seen him before. "What are you suggesting, Marshal?"

"Nothing at all, Mr. Thorne," Tramaine said easily. "Just trying to establish some facts." He stood to go. "I'm sure you're as anxious to get this thing cleared up as I am. I'll keep you informed of any developments."

"Please do," Jordan said, a bit testy, Tramaine thought.
