EPISODE 2, SCENE 4
Jordan Thorne was at that moment standing on the site of Clifftop with Bob Crix, the construction foreman. They watched a giant crane lift a length of foundation piping.

"Too bad we couldn't have gotten started on this back in July," Crix lamented. "Or we can't wait till spring."

"We can't wait," shot back Jordan tightly. He was aware of the potential risks of mid-winter construction, but the ground breaking had to get started now. The Town Council was still looking for ways to stop Clifftop. The enormous bank loans on the project were coming due. Jordan had financed much of Clifftop's early development out of his own pocket, and he was now strapped for cash. All that, plus the death of his mother in last week's storm, contributed to Jordan's tripwire moodiness. He was feeling pressure from all sides.
